Strategic Vision of PHA: Overview of 2019 Initiatives
Dr. John Dietz
Learn more.
What is it that physician-lead organizations bring to the American healthcare system? We are uniquely qualified to bring healthcare that meets the quadruple aim—providing care that is high quality, high value, engages providers, and lowers cost for employers, insurers, government, patients, and private equity. This “secret sauce” has been developed over years of entrepreneurial experience coupled with a clear strategic vision, driving future opportunities in healthcare.
This session sets the stage for the following sessions, in which Physician Hospitals of America (PHA), the PHA Governing Board leadership, members and industry experts will provide insight into the strategic vision for the future success of physician lead care and how physician-owned facilities will drive this agenda.

CMMI Demonstration Project: Opportunity for Expansion

Learn more.
Leading physician-owned hospitals (POHs) have developed an orthopedic bundled payment model – which would qualify as an Advanced APM – to present to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Innovation Center. The model would test the impact of a program that includes bundled payments for hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and spinal stenosis and special initiatives which include care management and data transparency programs. The model will demonstrate the value of POHs in advancing quality and health outcomes for Medicare benefciaries, while reducing Medicare program costs. This session will provide an overview of the program and the strategy for success.
